On 31 October 2026, the fairways of Ubombo Country Club in Big Bend will come alive with purpose as Ruach Education hosts its very first Golf Day, a celebration of community, generosity, and the shared belief that every child deserves the chance to flourish. With registration opening at 07:00 and tee-off set for 09:00, the day promises a blend of friendly competition and meaningful cause, inviting golfers, sponsors, parents, and supporters to walk eighteen holes in the name of the next generation.
Held under the format of a shotgun start with a full American scramble, the event has been designed to be as welcoming to seasoned players as it is to those simply looking to support a worthy mission. Yet beyond the swing of the club and the camaraderie on the green lies a deeper story, one rooted in faith, vision, and the transformative power of education.

What is the goal of this Golf Day?
The Ruach Education Golf Day is a strategic fundraising and community engagement initiative designed to bring together business leaders, community members, parents, and supporters who share a passion for education and community development. It is, at its heart, an invitation to invest in something lasting.
The event is built around three primary objectives:
• Fundraising: to generate financial support for the ongoing development and growth of Ruach Education and its community-focused projects.
• Awareness: to increase public awareness of the organisation’s vision, impact, and future development plans.
• Community Building: to strengthen relationships between businesses, families, community leaders, and supporters who believe in investing in the future of our children.
Funds raised through the Golf Day will contribute towards the development of educational facilities, learning resources, student programmes, and future community projects that will benefit children and families within the communities Ruach Education serves, ensuring that every Emalangeni raised translates into real, tangible impact.
Describing the heart of the organisation, Tanya DuPont of Ruach Education explains that it is “a faith-based educational organisation dedicated to providing quality education while nurturing the spiritual, emotional, social, and academic development of every learner.” Its mission, she says, is “to create a safe and inspiring environment where children can discover their God-given potential, develop strong values, and become confident leaders who positively impact their communities.”
The Ruach Education Golf Day marks the launch of what the organisation envisions becoming an annual flagship fundraising event. This inaugural gathering offers an exciting opportunity for sponsors, partners, and participants to become founding supporters of a tradition set to make a lasting impact on education and community development for years to come.

By participating in this first event, sponsors and golfers will play a vital role in establishing a legacy of support that helps transform lives through education, a legacy they can proudly say they helped begin. As DuPont notes, this inaugural Golf Day offers “an exciting opportunity for sponsors, partners, and participants to become founding supporters of a tradition that will continue to make a lasting impact on education and community development for years to come.”
How to get involved
A range of partnership and participation options are available for those wishing to support the cause. Hole sponsorships are offered at E2 000 each, with five holes available, while three premium Prime Holes are available at E4 000 each. Teams can enter the scramble as a Four-Ball at E4 000 per team, with entries limited to thirteen teams – making early registration essential for those keen to secure a place on the green.
To register a team, secure a sponsorship, or learn more about supporting Ruach Education’s mission, interested parties are encouraged to contact Tanya DuPont on 7680 8233.

As Eswatini continues to champion initiatives that uplift its communities, the Ruach Education Golf Day stands as a reminder that some of the most meaningful change begins with a single, generous step – or in this case, a single, hopeful swing. Eswatini Travel News looks forward to seeing the Big Bend fairways filled with players, partners, and purpose this October.
