RENAC WELCOMES THABISO NZUZA AS NEW GROUP CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

By Tlalane Dlamini

Royal Eswatini National Airways Corporation (RENAC) has appointed Chartered Accountant Thabiso Nzuza as its new Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO), effective 1 October 2026.

Nzuza brings extensive experience in financial management, strategic planning, governance and business leadership. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant through the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in Glasgow and is registered with the Eswatini Institute of Accountants as a Chartered Accountant (CA) (SD).

His appointment comes at an important stage in RENAC’s journey as the corporation continues to position itself for sustainable long-term growth.

Welcoming Nzuza to the organisation, RENAC Acting Group Chief Executive Officer Ndumiso Shongwe through a social media post shared in their official social media Facebook expressed confidence that his expertise and leadership would contribute meaningfully towards the corporation’s strategic objectives.

AVIATION’S ROLE IN NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

For Nzuza, aviation extends far beyond transporting passengers. It plays an important role in supporting tourism, trade, investment and broader national development.

The opportunity to contribute to an organisation that connects Eswatini with the region and the wider world was among the key motivations behind his decision to join RENAC.

STRENGTHENING REGIONAL CONNECTIVITY

Established in 1978 as Eswatini’s national airline, RENAC continues to play a strategic role in the country’s aviation and tourism ecosystem.

Through its airline division, Eswatini Air, the corporation connects King Mswati III International Airport with regional destinations including Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Harare and Lusaka.

RENAC also provides charter brokerage and ground-handling services, while Royal Eswatini Travel Agency (RETA) operates as a subsidiary of the corporation.

For Eswatini’s travel and tourism sector, the financial sustainability and operational strength of the national carrier remain important to maintaining reliable regional connectivity for visitors, businesses and tour operators.

As Nzuza begins his tenure as GCFO, his focus on financial discipline, governance and operational efficiency comes at a significant time for RENAC as it continues building towards a sustainable future.

Eswatini Travel News welcomes Nzuza to the aviation sector and wishes him every success in his new role.
