Eswatini Positions EITF 2026 as a Catalyst for MICE Tourism Growth

The Kingdom of Eswatini is cementing its reputation as a rising destination for business tourism, with the official launch of the 58th Edition of the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) 2026 signalling a bold new chapter for the country’s MICE, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions industry.

Speaking at the launch held on May 19, 2026 at Mavuso Exhibition & Trade Centre in Manzini, Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) Chief Executive Officer Sibani Mngomezulu painted an exciting picture of a Kingdom that is not only open for business, but actively building world-class platforms to attract long-stay business travellers from across the globe.

“Through flagship events like the Royal Signature Expo, the upcoming Eswatini Investment Conference in July, and the EITF, we are boosting our hospitality and leisure sectors by blending long-stay business travel with world-class events,” Mngomezulu said, a statement that speaks directly to the growing potential of business tourism as a pillar of Eswatini’s visitor economy.

The recent opening of the Ezulwini Palazzo ICC was highlighted by Mngomezulu as a defining moment in this journey, providing the Kingdom with a premier conferencing facility capable of attracting regional and international delegates who combine business travel with leisure experiences.

The numbers from EITF 2025 are equally encouraging for the tourism sector. The fair attracted over 70 000 visitors and welcomed more than 22 foreign participants among its 282 exhibitors, demonstrating the event’s growing appeal beyond Eswatini’s borders. Sports tourism also featured prominently, with the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup and cultural dance competitions drawing additional footfall and enriching the visitor experience.

For 2026, Mngomezulu confirmed the EITF is doubling down on its green credentials, with sustainability woven into the event’s DNA. A dedicated Green Zone, developed in partnership with Nedbank, will spotlight green finance and environmentally responsible business practices, an increasingly attractive feature for the conscious global traveller.

With the EITF scheduled to run from August 28 to September 6, 2026 , themed “Unlocking Green Economy Opportunities for Sustainable Trade Promotion,” Eswatini is sending a clear message to the world, this is a destination where business, culture, and sustainability converge.
