LOZITHA — The Tetfulo ceremony marking His Majesty King Mswati III’s 58th Birthday and 40th Coronation Anniversary unfolded as far more than a gift-giving tradition. It became a living testament to four decades of shared progress, sacrifice, and unwavering loyalty.
In total, Emaswati presented His Majesty with more than E18 Million in cash contributions and over 250 head of cattle, a record-breaking outpouring of support from various sectors, organisations, and individuals. Contributions ranged from deeply personal offerings, such as baskets of fresh fruit brought by ordinary citizens, to grand gestures including cheques, a large television set, tractors, and livestock.
His Majesty gave each presentation his full attention, receiving every contributor, regardless of the size of their offering, with equal grace and appreciation.
A Mother’s Love, A Son’s Joy
Among the most touching moments of the ceremony was the presentation by Her Majesty the Indlovukazi who gifted His Majesty an exquisite collection of bespoke furniture. It was a heartfelt gesture that transcended the ceremony and spoke simply to the timeless bond between a mother and her son.
As the gift was unveiled, a quiet reverence settled over the hall. It served as a reminder that behind the throne and behind the Crown is a family, and that the love within it forms part of the foundation upon which the Kingdom stands.

As His Majesty received the gift, balloons burst into the air in a cascade of colour and celebration, drawing applause and ululation from the crowd. The moment captured everything the Tetfulo stands for: honour, unity of purpose, and the desire of a people to see their King prosper.
His Majesty Speaks from the Heart
Visibly moved by the generosity and devotion of his people, His Majesty rose to address the nation with warmth and deep gratitude.
He began by acknowledging every individual who had travelled to Mandvulo Grand Hall to participate in the Tetfulo, noting that it was not the size of a gift that moved him, but the sincerity behind it.
“I look at what you have brought me today, and I see more than gifts,” His Majesty said in a measured and heartfelt tone.
“I see the fruits of our labour as a nation. I see development. I see a people who have worked hard, who have not given up, and who continue to believe in the vision of this Kingdom. These gifts are not merely material offerings, they are proof of what we have built together”, His Majesty said.
“From the smallest gift brought with love to the largest cheque presented with pride, I have received every offering with the same grateful heart. Because it is not what you give that defines us; it is that you came. It is that you are here. That is what makes Eswatini great.”
