VUYO VIWE TO HEADLINE POETRY & ACOUSTICS AT BAHLE GALLERY

By Tlalane Dlamini

MBABANE – Music lovers can look forward to an intimate evening of live music, poetry and art when Poetry & Acoustics returns to Bahle Gallery on Thursday, 29 October 2026, featuring South African-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vuyo Viwe.

Presented by Bahle Gallery in partnership with Umsamo we Culture, the special edition will explore the intersection of jazz and classical folk, bringing together soulful vocals, piano, flute and bass in a stripped-back acoustic setting.

A PERFORMANCE DEFINED BY VERSATILITY

An emerging voice on the South African jazz scene, Vuyo Viwe is a singer-songwriter, pianist and flutist whose versatility and expressive stage presence have earned her opportunities to perform at prominent platforms, including Standard Bank Joy of Jazz, Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival, Kids Love Jazz and Thandiswa Mazwai’s Sankofa Festival.

Following the release of her debut album, there are mirrors everywhere, the artist brings her musical repertoire to the Poetry & Acoustics stage, blending the improvisational freedom of jazz with folk storytelling and the refined textures of classical arrangements.

The acoustic format promises an intimate showcase in which every note, breath and pause contributes to the overall experience, allowing audiences to connect more closely with the music and the artist’s creative expression.

AN EVENING OF MUSIC, ART AND CULINARY EXPERIENCES

Beyond the live performance, Poetry & Acoustics offers a broader cultural experience designed for music lovers, art enthusiasts and audiences seeking a more intimate alternative to conventional concerts.

Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the live showcase, explore the gallery’s art room and engage with the creative atmosphere of the venue. A special menu of food and beverages will also be available for purchase throughout the evening.

With its combination of live music, visual art and culinary offerings, the event continues to position Bahle Gallery as a space for cultural expression and meaningful artistic encounters.

LIMITED SEATING

Attendance is limited to 50 guests to preserve the intimate atmosphere of the experience. With previous editions attracting enthusiastic audiences and the series building a loyal following, early reservations are encouraged.
