MALKERNS, ESWATINI – Set against the scenic beauty of Malkerns, the fifth edition of the Makoti Festival is shaping up to be one of the region’s must-visit cultural travel experiences. Taking place on May 2, 2026 at Malkerns Country Club, the festival invites both local and international travellers to immerse themselves in a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and authentic Swazi hospitality.

This year’s edition promises an unforgettable getaway, blending the charm of Eswatini’s countryside with an electrifying lineup of talent from across Southern Africa. Newly announced performers include Stella Jacobs, DJ Cup, Mco Jamrock, Lyrikal Busta, Young Zesh, AS4 JerryP, True Classic Group, Sancheziey, and the highly anticipated Sarnilo.

Rising star Ntando “Sarnilo” Samketi Dlamini shared her excitement about being part of this travel-worthy experience. Reflecting on her first visit to the festival, she described it as unforgettable, with an atmosphere so captivating she didn’t want to leave. Now, stepping onto the stage herself, she looks forward to creating that same magic for festival-goers traveling from near and far.

Adding to the allure, Sarnilo will perform with a live band, offering visitors a richer, more immersive musical experience. She also hinted that she will perform a never-before-heard songs, giving travellers yet another reason to include the Makoti Festival in their itinerary.

Sarnilo, who has represented the country on international platforms such as Spotify Africa Writing, embodies this cultural fusion. The festival’s growing regional appeal is further highlighted by the inclusion of South African Maskandi artist Feza Langa, Italian act De Picat, and Mozambique’s Liloca, Mulinde, and DJ Dilson. The Mbombela showcase also introduced host Phindy The Real Queen alongside Geenger, Mpho Less, and Mdu Aka TRP, cementing the festival’s reputation as a cross-border cultural celebration.
