LESAMA OPENS ITS DOORS TOMORROW
For years, motorists travelling along the Mbabane–Manzini highway have cast curious glances at a striking building along the old Elangeni road to Lozitha, next to the Masilela Complex in Ezulwini wondering, speculating, imagining what it might one day become. That speculation is now deliciously over.
On Friday evening, Lesama Restaurant was officially launched, unveiling itself as one of Eswatini’s most ambitious and sophisticated dining establishments to date. And from Monday, 14 April, the doors open to the public, inviting locals and visitors alike to experience a venue that is already redefining the Valley of Heaven’s hospitality landscape.
A Three-Storey Journey of Indulgence
Guests at Friday’s launch were treated to a guided site visit of the extraordinary three-storey venue , a building whose exterior hinted at elegance but whose interior exceeded every expectation.
The three-storey establishments consists of a coffee bar, perfect for leisurely afternoon visits or pre-dinner arrivals, a sophisticated cigar lounge offering a retreat of warmth and character for discerning guests. But it is the rooftop on the third floor that truly steals the heart.
From that elevated vantage point, the sweeping panoramic view of Ezulwini Valley unfolds in all its splendour and at night, as the lights of the valley shimmer below and the distant glow of passing vehicles trace the highway, the rooftop transforms into something truly magical. It is the kind of ambiance that reminds you why Ezulwini is called the Valley of Heaven.
The launch evening itself was a feast for the senses. Attendees were invited to indulge at a beautifully curated long harvest table, complete with a hot meal and decadent desserts, a fitting introduction to a kitchen that clearly has serious intentions.
Phase Two: Even Bigger Things Ahead
If the launch offered a glimpse of what Lesama is, what is coming next promises to elevate it further. According to Thea Litschka-Koen, who addressed guests on the night, the second phase of Lesama, expected to open within the next couple of months will introduce a 250-seater restaurant, along with full conferencing and banqueting facilities, and a swimming pool.
For Eswatini’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) tourism segment, this is significant news. A venue of this scale and sophistication, situated in the heart of Ezulwini and offering both fine dining and event hosting capabilities, fills a gap that the industry has long felt.
